Claims Management

Claims Consultant – Global Quantum Limited, Eglinton Crosstown LRT Project, Toronto, Canada (2018)

  • Developed suitable templates to include specific PA references for claimable items not otherwise captured in guidance notes
  • QA/QC and technical review of specifications and drawings; general conditions and supplementary conditions
  • Performed comprehensive reviews of background information (including geotechnical baseline reports, pre-existing condition survey reports and SUE reports) and assessed potential for claims for mis located and unknown (buried) utility infrastructure (Eg.Gas mains, THESL utilities, watermain)
  • Performed critical reviews of subsurface utility engineering (SUE) reports to substantiate claims

Commercial Manager – FM Services; Graham/Carillion Joint Venture; Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford (SHNB) Project; $407m; Saskatchewan, Canada (2017-2018)

Provided Commercial management services during the execution, monitoring and closing out of Carillion, 20% construction stake of a $407M LEED silver project at SHNB:

  • Evaluated life cycle costs and FM costs
  • Reviewed relevant project technical specifications to assess commercial risk
  • Responsible for claims preparation and disputes resolution
  • Responsible for drafting and finalizing operational protocols, contract management plan, start-up plan and rolling five-year facility maintenance plan

Design Coordinator – Carillion Construction; TTC Vaughan Subway Extension Project; $190m (CAN); Toronto, Canada (2011-2017)

Controlled, monitored, and managed commercial closing out of 5 critical subcontracts (civil and structural works) with a combined value of over $20m (CAN). Services provided included:

  • Assisted with Contractual claims preparation (against the TCC) and rebuttal (against the subtrades)
  • Collected and compiled relevant progress and cost data and developed cost control reports for review by senior management
  • Provided quantum and delay analysis support to Carillion’s claims management team
  • Managed sub trades, and performed detailed progress assessment and quantity take-offs in support of Carillion’s monthly billing to the client
  • Performed forensic as-planned and as-built schedule/ productivity analysis in support of Carillion’s head contract claim against the TTC and subcontractors
  • Prepared monthly financial accruals of costs for sub trades
  • Managed cost by preparing monthly end of life forecast reports

  • Developed preliminary and final schedule documents, assessed the impact of change order requests against approved schedule baseline
  • Monitored project schedule during monitoring and controlling phases
  • Analyzed the schedule, and provided updates as required
  • Evaluated bids for the procurement of contracts for civil engineering and project development works
